Terms of service
Last updated 21 October 2026 · [REGISTERED COMPANY NAME], RC [NUMBER], Lagos
1. About Bargo
Bargo is an app that connects riders with independent drivers in Lagos. Drivers aren't Bargo employees: each trip is an agreement between the rider and the driver, and Bargo provides the app, checks drivers and cars, and supports both sides. By using Bargo you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.
2. Your account
- You must be 18 or over and give your real name, phone number and photo.
- You sign in with a code sent to your email. Keep access to your email safe and don't share codes.
- One account per person. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
- You can delete your account at any time (see Deleting your account).
3. Fares and offers
- Bargo suggests a fare for each trip. You can offer a different amount within the limits the app shows.
- Drivers can accept your offer or send a counter-offer. You choose which driver to take.
- Once you choose a driver, that agreed fare is the price of the trip. A waiting fee may apply if the driver waits beyond the free waiting time shown in the app.
4. Paying
For now you pay the driver the agreed fare in cash at the end of the trip. Card payments are coming soon and will have their own terms. If you disagree about a fare, report it in the app and our team will look into it.
5. Cancelling
- Cancelling is free within 2 minutes of choosing your driver. After that it counts as a late cancel.
- Three late cancels within 7 days pause your account for 24 hours. This applies to riders and drivers.
- Once the trip has started it can't be cancelled. If you feel unsafe, use SOS.
7. Drivers and commission
- To drive you need an approved application (licence, NIN, ID, vehicle papers and insurance) and a car that passes Bargo's inspection. Documents must stay valid.
- Bargo's commission is 10% of each fare, including any waiting fee. During launch offers it may be lower. Each driver can see what they owe in the app.
- Drivers pay commission by bank transfer using their payment reference. A driver who owes more than the limit shown in the app can't go online until they've paid.
- Drivers are responsible for their own car, licences, insurance and taxes.
8. Safety and conduct
- Riders: only get in when the driver enters your ride PIN. Drivers: always check the PIN before starting.
- Treat each other with respect. Violence, threats, harassment, discrimination, drink or drug driving and dangerous driving are not allowed.
- Don't misuse SOS, reports or ratings. Don't use Bargo for anything illegal.
- We may pause or close an account that breaks these terms or puts people at risk, and we'll tell you why unless the law or safety stops us.
9. Liability and disputes
[LAWYER TO PROVIDE WORDING: limits of Bargo's liability as a platform, what Bargo is and isn't responsible for during trips, and how claims are made.]
These terms are governed by the laws of Nigeria. If a dispute can't be settled with our support team, the courts of Lagos State will decide it.
10. Changes and contact
We'll tell you in the app before important changes to these terms. If you keep using Bargo after they take effect, the new terms apply. Questions? Email [CONTACT EMAIL].
